Surprise! I bet you were expecting to see David’s name under this column. For those of you did not know or did not realize I have been producing the newsletter for the past year. Although, David was elected editor, as husbands will be husbands more and more of the newsletter was delegated to my capable hands (a little self-pat on the back.) and that is how I became the actual editor. None of the glory but all the work; the ladies in the club can relate to this.
I have enjoyed every minute of putting the newsletter together for you. I wanted to make the newsletter informative, fun, colorful, and entertaining and I believe that was accomplished and I hope the majority of you agree. Editors from the past have commented a few times on how "easy and how non-time consuming" the newsletter is but I am here to tell you that I spent a lot of time on the newsletter (even work time—sshhhh) and I savored every minute of it. You know the old saying . . . well, I do not know the old saying but it is something like, "you get out of what you put into" something.
Thus, it is with great sadness that I must pass the pen on to a new editor. The new editor has come out of the ashes of the old manual typewriter and into the computer era with the acquisition of his very own computer and HIS via cable. I will supervise him through his first and maybe second newsletter and then he will be on his own. Congratulations to David!! (I assume he is the new editor because he ran unopposed!)
Other Stuff
Darlene Ripley
Dan
from Logo Press said he will try again after the first of the year to put together an order for jackets and vests as there were not enough orders this time. If you are interested in other articles of clothing bring it up at the January meeting and we will see if other items are available.
Do not forget the Christmas Party December 5! It is at Milltown Sailing Association, 410 14th Street, Everett, and cost $5.00 per person. Please confirm with Fran Murray by November 29 at 206-542-1866 or scubagram_590@hotmail.com.
Did you know
that when you show your ESDC membership card at Starfish dive shop you receive a 10% discount? Did you know that if you show your ESDC membership card at Northwest Sport Dive you get a free air fill? Be sure you have your ESDC membership card with you when you go shopping at dive shops—you just never know.If other shops give you a discount please let us know and we will publish their name.
If you would like to plan some cool dives (not brrrr, but yahoo) please contact Wendy or Rich regarding the Dive Planning Committee. YOU can have a say in YOUR club’s dives!
2005 board members will be announced at the Christmas Party in December.

Winning $50.00
You could win a $50.00 ESDC check by hosting club dives. Every time you sponsor a club dive your name "goes into a hat" and twice a year a raffle will be held and one person from each drawing will receive $50.00 from ESDC as a Thank You for sponsoring dives, friendships, and fun! Remember, a club dive is a dive approved by Rich Carton, Activities Coordinator, and placed on the clip-board and on the ESDC web-site. This is a great way to meet club members and have lots of fun. Book your dives today! Remember: the more dives you book the more chances you have of winning.
Continuing Education Reward
When you take a class that furthers your diving experience, such as Advanced Open Water, Rescue, Dive Master, etc., show The Board your certification card and you will receive a congratulatory $15.00. This offer is only good one time per calendar year.
