The Edmonds Moonlight Beach Adventure
Wendy Drucker
Saturday, September 16.
We will be doing a night critter collection to supply the touch pools along the shore, and then we'll need to return the critters to their home.
The event is at the Edmonds Oil Dock (Marina Beach Park).
Dive briefing is at 6:45 PM. They'd like the critters brought to the pools between 7:45 and 8:00 PM. If you don't know how to get there please call me or ask at the September meeting.
The dive will be similar to our Richmond Beach dives, except that this is a night dive. Don't forget lights, jars and goodie bags. You should be an experienced night diver. If you are not sure if you have appropriate experience to do this dive, call me.
Waivers are required (do not need to notarize). I will bring some to the dive briefing. If you are under 18, be sure to ask me for one in advance so a parent/guardian can sign it. If you signed one for last year's Moonlight Adventure, you don't need a new one. See the list below. This waiver is different from the one for our Fishing Pier Cleanup dives.
Important reminder for divers new to the area! The City of Edmonds has sanctioned this event, but otherwise all the Edmonds dive sites north of the Oil Dock are a marine sanctuary. Do not disturb the critters on other dives!
Please let me know if you plan to dive, so I can give the Edmonds people a count. Thanks!

Craw Fish Dive
Shawn Miller
Well hello everybody. I just wanted to say thanks for all the divers that showed up to help me collect those tasty critters. My dive plan was not real good this time, but we had a successful dive though. We collected 5 craw fish. Yes you heard me 5 CRAW Fish. Two of those were not even legal size. Flowing Lake is a very shallow lake with a false bottom. Meaning mucky bottom yuck. Anyways the divers had a good time.
Rich Carton was there with Loretta in toe, she was our shore support. Rich was kind enough to bring his dive flag and float. (Thanks Rich) Rich Watson has been in the club for awhile and has been on a few dives with the club, but his work schedule does not work with our meeting schedule. So that being said I hope to see you on some more dives (Rich W :)
Johanna and Andy Norton came to help out. They went along all the docks and did not have any luck. Fran got lost on the way out there but she came out anyway. Oh my god she was in a wet suit. The water was warm (for lake water). Fran you are the best. As for me, I hope you all had a good time, even though we did not collect a lot of craw fish. My nephew and I had a blast protecting our friends.
Oh, Ron thanks for planning the picnic. I had a good time. Thanks for the food everybody. Love you all.
